Control and Power Systems Celebrating 30 Years
Control and Power Systems (CPS) was created on February 14th, 1994, by Stuart Noble and Dave Darrell (now retired). CPS’s purpose is the same today as it was then, to deliver high quality products and unrivalled service for customers with power generation applications.
Initially specialising in generator control panels and ATS panels, our journey began with humble roots - operating out of Stuart's garage to fulfil our first order for a railway project in Hong Kong. We now manufacture and supply LV switchgear allowing customers to combine generator controls into switchboards.
Growth and Expansion: In April 1994, we moved to an industrial estate in Burniston Scarborough, marking the beginning of our steady expansion. From our modest 2000sqft space, we've grown to occupy over 8000sqft, encompassing manufacturing and office facilities. Our reach now extends across continents (including Antarctica), and our panels and switchboards can be found on government, mining, telecommunications, and medical projects in many countries across the world.
Leadership and Evolution: Internal transformations have been integral to our journey. Over the past six years, Charles Spencer and Paul I’Anson joined as directors, with Paul's remarkable progression from an apprentice in 1995 to a key leadership role. Our directors’ experience is invaluable, ensuring we can respond quickly and deliver the best solutions for all our customers. Continued investment is fundamental to our journey for example testing (ASTA) systems to comply with BSEN standards and offering switchboards from Form 1 to Form 4 type 7 up to 6300A
Responsive: Adaptability has been our strength, as evidenced by our expansion into LV switchgear manufacture. Rigorous investments in testing systems have ensured compliance with BSEN standards, empowering us to offer a comprehensive range of switchboards.
Notable Projects: Our portfolio boasts an array of prestigious projects spanning telecommunications, oil and mining, entertainment complexes, and humanitarian initiatives. From transmitter stations in Saudi Arabia to hydro generation projects worldwide, our contributions have left a lasting impact across diverse sectors.
